A day in the Winelands of the Western Cape – South Africa

[singlepic id=29 w=320 h=240 float=left] Last Friday I was looking for some new venues for the business network that I am running in Cape Town (South Africa Social & Business Network).

Therefore I decided to have a look at some the winefarm in the Somerset West / Stellenbosch area.

I made this tour with a friend of mine and we found some great places. I would like to share these with you and have added the list below. The tour took as about 6 hours with wine tasting, lunch etc. So it was quite relaxed.

You should really check these places out, they are quite easy to find. Just follow the R44 from Somerset West to Stellenbosch and you will have one after the other 😉

Avontuur Estate – check out the restaurant, it is cosy and the service excellent

Eikendal Vineyards Pty (Ltd.), – The restautant changed owner and is now called Bayede.

Kleine Zalze – Very nice, but expensive restaurant and large conference room.

Blaauwklippen Vineyards – One of my absolute favorites

Dornier Wines – nice, Bodega Restaurant, good food, bit small portions and costly.

Waterford Estate – Another favorite, very classy. A must to see.

VERGELEGEN ESTATE – Impressive, but I was fed up that the take R10 for entry. No other vineyard does this.
