6 Things you can do in Century City

It’s not difficult to find something to do in and around the Mother City. There are areas that offer plenty of activities to keep you busy for an entire day (or two or three). One such area is the urban lifestyle development of Century City.

Many people mistake Century City to be nothing more than it’s Cape Town mall, Canal Walk, but this shopping mall is merely one offering of Century City. Besides the mall, there is a waterfront, green living initiatives, residential and corporate buildings and so much more.

Here are six things you can and should do in Century City.

Invest in property

If you’re looking for modern and luxury apartments, then Century City is where you want to invest. There are more than 15 different residential establishments for you to view and choose from. Century City is also an ideal central point to stay in if you want to be close to town, not too far away from the sea and close enough to enjoy the Durbanville wine routes. Comedian Shimmy Isaacs to perform her new one woman show at Cape Town Comedy Club

If you are worried about how to best celebrate the arrival of Spring in the Mother City early in September, the answer is simple: Moenie!!

Laughter is the best medicine and a cure for everything from the annoying winter flu to the cold weather blues, and when it comes to comedy, it does not get any better than the hilarious Shimmy Isaacs!

Shimmy is back with her fifth one woman special stand-up comedy production, Moenie!!, which will be presented at the highly popular Cape Town Comedy Club at the V&A Waterfront in Cape Town on Monday, 3 September and Tuesday, 4 September 2018.

The show compares Shimmy’s life before and after stardom in relation to her friends, family and fans. She has learned that fame comes at a price – like posing for pics in 45-degree heat, even if the “aunty doesn’t know how to work her camera phone”. But famous or not, one still has to deal with family – like meeting your brother’s new girlfriend, trying to explain the importance of living a sober, carb- and secret-free life and so much more. Moenie!! Introduces characters that are cleverly portrayed through physical comedy and impersonations, with Shimmy’s style of presentation making them instantly recognisable.
