In an effort to take full advantage of all the offerings in Cape Town last weekend, I decided to spend a day at the V&A Waterfront – first stop was Body Worlds followed by Red Bull Flugtag. An interesting combination that worked surprisingly well!
First stop was Body Worlds. I’d heard about this exhibition for years and was curious to see it for myself. Whether you have any knowledge of anatomy and physiology or not, the Body Worlds exhibit makes science accessible and interesting to all audiences.
It was amazing to see how complex and delicate the human body is – and it made me appreciate the fact that I have a body that works properly – most of the time ?
It definitely made me want to live the healthiest life possible. For more information on the exhibit go to the web site… http://bodyworlds.co.za/
Then it was on to Red Bull Flugtag. I must admit I wasn’t expecting too much so I was pleasantly surprised at how much fun it was. We found a place to see the action even though we arrived after the first team had already flown and the atmosphere was great. There were multiple commentators/cameras interviewing participants and spectators between ‘flights’ and they kept things moving! The crowd was really enthusiastic and also fun to watch ? If you missed it or even if you were there, check out the website for great videos, photos and stories… http://www.redbull.co.za/cs/Satellite/en_ZA/Red-Bull-Flugtag-South-Africa/001243159578902
