
Today I would like to introduce a upcoming South African artist to you. His name is Bonga Tshemese,
also know as Dibongs, the music man.
The Cape Town-born musician has two albums under his belt. Read our short interview and learn more about him and his music.
When and why did you start playing?
I started when I was 9 years old. I was singing in concerts as front man in choirs and for 10 years in the drama school boys choir.

Is your family musical?
No, I am the only one who is a musician.
What do you like most about being an musician?
Production and writing song.
What do you like least?
It is a hectic life, I never relax and it is always busy.
How long have you been doing this?
Since 2008

My role model is my father, businesswise it is the late King Shakazulu, Tokia Sexwhale and Tevin Cembal.

A lot of performances, in Cape Town and Joburg, but also have been in London.
How do you handle mistakes during a performance?
Too much pride, too much confidence, sometime lost attitude
Do you get nervous before a performance or a competition?
No, I do not have stage fight. I never get nervous.
How often and for how long do you practice?
I am always in the studio, Monday to Thursday. Only Fridays and Sundays are days off.
How do you balance your music with other obligations – mate, children, job?
I am very busy and hectic, so I do not have enough time to take time off days or for my girlfriend and family.
