Best Hotels in Cape Town

One&Only Hotel Cape Town

We all know that Cape Town is a colourful and beautiful city that simultaneously offers views of the mountain and ocean. The following hotels are all five-star rated and worth the arm and leg you’ll end up paying for a one-night stay. Or, if you’re just curious about what the best hotels are in the Mother City and what they offer (other than bedding sets you wish you could take home), here’s what you need to know.

One&Only

Probably the first hotel on anyone’s lips when associating “five-star”, “hotel” and “Cape Town”, is the One&Only hotel by the V&A Waterfront.

Hiding away on an island-like layout is this beautiful hotel with surrounding views of Table Mountain and the waterfront. Find their private spa island for a tranquil getaway among gardens and waterways, separate from the rest of the hotel. Or, you could visit one of the dining areas owned by celebrity chefs. 3 Must-Ride Mountain Bike Trails

With all the mountains, hills, rivers and valleys in the Western Cape, it’s no surprise that mountain bike trails are both popular and aplenty. So, for all those mountain bike fanatics, here’s a list of some of the must-ride biking trails in the Western Cape, according to fellow enthusiasts.

Hoogekraal

A mere 26km mountain bike trail doesn’t seem too daunting a task for an experienced rider, does it? What about Beware Valley, Spykers Hill and Widow Maker… those make it sound more like a challenge doesn’t it? How about extending it to 44km when linking to the Fair Cape trail?

Hoogekraal is one of the seven mountain bike trails that fall under the Tygerberg Mountain Bike Club and will cost you only R60 to experience. Starting at 46m above sea level, enjoy the unpredictable technical tracks and climb through 4km ascent to 226m. Don’t be fooled by the false summit, your legs need to carry you a bit further before you can really enjoy the view. Read more 3 Must-Ride Mountain Bike Trails
