Heavy Metal supporters in South Africa have held their breath since early in 2012 when rumours first emerged that a local appearance by USA metal titans Lamb Of God was imminent. I would like to introduce you to my friend Sam. I meet Sam at Mzoli’s in Gugulethu about 2 years ago.
He performs there at the weekends as Freestyle Football Juggler.
“Freestyle football, also known as freestyle soccer in North America, is the art of expressing yourself with a football, while performing various tricks with any part of the body. Similar in style to keepie uppie, kemari and the ball discipline of rhythmic gymnastics, it has become a widespread sport across the world and is practised by many people.”
Watching Sam as a street performer will leave you speechless when you see him doing his fancy footwork. He is really talented.
The annual Up The Creek production, organized by Red Hot Events and Blue Moon, will take place from 30th January to 2nd February 2014.
