The second Cape Town Motor Show, held at Sun GrandWest from 2-4 March 2018, was a huge success for both visitors and exhibitors, offering everything a petrolhead could wish for as well as a fun family day out. Visitors explored a vast array of vehicle displays, from the automotive industry’s newest vehicle models, to classic, luxury and exotic cars, along with many exciting experiences that kept the crowds entertained.
Following in the wake of success of the 2017 show, The second annual South African International Tattoo Convention returns with an upscaled offering for 2018 that boasts a stylish and contemporary new venue that will play host to 80 of the world’s most reputable and respected tattoo artists arriving on the shores of Cape Town from 23rd – 25th March 2018.
(16 February 2018. Cape Town.) Learners at St Joseph’s Special School in Montana, Cape Town, were thrilled to receive a Table Cricket Table from the Lord’s Taverners yesterday, sponsored by The Kove Collection. St Joseph’s Special School caters for chronically ill children and children with special education needs, and having Table Cricket at their school means they will be able to participate in a competitive sport, which for many of them would otherwise not be possible.
Stephan Delport, Sales Manager of the Alphen Boutique Hotel, which is part of the Kove Collection, presented the table to school Principal Carla Paulse, excited learners and teachers. Bradlyn Stuurman from Sporting Chance, Sports Coaching and Development, was on hand to teach how the game is played. The Table Cricket sponsorship includes four weeks of coaching by Sporting Chance, as it is essential that the teachers, sports coaches and occupational therapists from the schools receiving the Table Cricket, are empowered to make full use of the game and its benefits.

Run with the bull this year at none other than Bot River Barrels & Beards on Saturday, April 21, when – for the first time ever – this most majestic beast takes centre stage at a Cape winelands shindig like no other.
No, of course there won’t be any actual el-toro running in the Pamplonic sense (although the antics of the valley’s famously game winemakers may qualify). This whole shebang is an invitation to party, party, party; make new friends; celebrate the end of another bountiful grape harvest; and, do some good in the process. The small Garrison Church, which seats 100 people and is located at the village opposite the post office on Robben Island was packed to capacity with family and friends of the happy pairs, all dressed up for the special occasion.
Robben Island Museum (RIM) Executive Manager, Mr Gershon Manana addressed the brides during a welcome speech: “You have selected a unique and very special place to get married, a World Heritage Site, a place we all associate with the triumph of the human spirit over adversity, and is something marriage surely needs.” Read more Happy couples tie the knot at unique island location ›
