The Most Comprehensive Traveling Exhibition Ever Compiled on Leonardo da Vinci, Da Vinci – The Genius, will be on show at Chavonnes Battery Museum, Clock Tower V&A Waterfront from 27 November 2013 until 9 February 2014.
The ingenuity, innovation and marvels of Leonardo da Vinci?s world will be brought to life in a wide-ranging and stimulating exhibition opening in Cape Town on 27 November 2013. The interactive experience will immerse visitors in Leonardo?s timeless brilliance through full-scale interpretations of his inventions and unparalleled studies of his iconic art.
Da Vinci – The Genius demonstrates the full scope of Leonardo?s remarkable achievements as an artist, inventor, anatomist, sculptor, engineer, musician, mathematician, architect and all-round Renaissance thinker.
Capetonians will have the opportunity to experience over 200 unique pieces including 75 life-size machine inventions built using materials from Leonardo?s era and three-dimensional renderings of his most notable Renaissance works. They will be able to push, pull, crank and interact with many of these exhibits for a hands-on understanding of the scientific principles behind them.
