Fleur du Cap adds extra flavour to Stellenbosch Wine Festival
Coetzenburg Sports Grounds – Friday, 5 to Sunday, 7 February 2016

Experience the diversity of flavours when pairing Fleur du Cap wines with tasty morsels enriched with artisanal salts at the 2016 Stellenbosch Wine Festival taking place at Coetzenburg Sports Grounds from Friday, 5 to Sunday 7 February 2016.

Fleur du Cap will treat festival goers to a variety of delicious pairings. Enjoy Fleur du Cap Bergkelder Selection Sauvignon Blanc 2015 with popcorn spiked with Kala Namak salt. This exotic salt accentuates the intricate layers of tropical fruit and herbaceous notes of this crisp and refreshing Sauvignon Blanc.

The golden straw coloured Fleur du Cap Unfiltered Chenin Blanc 2014, one of two new wines in the ultra-elegant Unfiltered range, is paired with rich cheese straws festooned in a combination of Khoisan Flakes and Caviar salt. The burst of freshness from the wine is the perfect foil for this salty snack.

The beautifully complex and fruit forward Fleur du Cap Unfiltered Pinotage 2014, the other brand new addition to the range, melds seamlessly with biltong and Himalayan Salt for an interesting twist to this classic South African combination. If something sweet is what you are after, try Fleur du Cap Noble Late Harvest 2013 paired with Red Alea salt dusted fudge. Finding the perfect balance between sweetness and acidity, this wine leaves a dry finish on the palate, making it the ideal match for sweet desserts paired with salt.

Your new-year-new-you-resolution does not have to be thrown out of the car window on your way to the festival. If you prefer to live on the lighter side of summer, Fleur du Cap Natural Light Rosé 2015, with its big flavour yet low alcohol and kilojoule count, is perfect for a balmy day out.

Fleur du Cap wines can be purchased at the festival at cellar door prices.

Daily Festival tickets cost R180 for adults and include a tasting glass. Tickets are available online from www.webtickets.co.za. Children under 18 enter free. Festival opening times: Friday from 15h00-21h00, Saturday from 10h00-18h00 and Sunday from 10h00-18h00. Tastings finish an hour before closing time.
