How Much Protein Do You Need for Fitness Training?

Today I want to start a little discussion.

How much protein do you need as an average fitness person? Do you need protein supplements or is a good and healthy diet enough?

For sure you will not need 2,5 – 3 gr. of protein per kilo bodyweight as most bodybuilding journals write. Or I am wrong?
