Islay of Skye is a popular destination for hikers and mountaineers. The Skye Trail is a 5-7 day, absolutely magnificent tour through the Scottish Highlands. The route follows the Trotternish Ridge, past the Quiraing and the coastal cliffs on the Islay of Skye. A medium, beautiful, scenic and mostly foggy hike awaits you in Islay of Skye. I thought the tour was marvellous. Chapeau!

The West Highland Way is the first official long-distance hiking trail in Scotland and runs from Milngavie north of Glasgow to Fort William.

Der Isle of Skye Trail ist ein anspruchsvoller, inoffizieller 127 km langer Weitwanderweg. Der Pfad erstreckt sich über den größten Teil der Insel Skye und führt durch schwieriges Gelände, einschließlich spektakulärer Berg- und Küstenlandschaften. Die Route folgt dem Trotternish Bergrücken, den Black and Red Cuillins sowie den Küstenklippen und steilen Hängen des Hochlandgebirges.

Von Milngavie (Glasgow) nach Fort William durch die Highlands. From Milngavie (Glasgow) to Fort William through the Higlands.

Three day hike, Western Highlands. Wildcamping and bothies.

Von Fort William nach Inverness durch das Great Glen, entlang Loch Lochy, Loch Oich und Loch Ness. From Fort William to Inverness through the Great Glen, along Loch Lochy, Loch Oich and Loch Ness.

Von der Küstenstadt Fort William durch unterschiedliche Landschaften nach Corrour, dem höchsten Bahnhof von Großbritannien. Das malerische Glen Nevis wird immer schmaler und schließlich zu einer Schlucht, an dessen Ende ein gigantischer Wasserfall wartet. Anschließend wird es flacher, aber keinesfalls langweilig und die Anzahl der Wanderer nimmt ab. Weitere Highlights sind das Loch Ossian und der einsame Bahnhof Corrour. Es bestehen Möglichkeiten für Abstecher und Fortführungen der Tour.
