Pilgrim walks in Rhineland-Palatinate

Die Verbindungsroute zwischen dem nördlichen und südlichen Pfälzer Jakobsweg beginnt in Johanniskreuz und verläuft bis Erlenbach bei Dahn, dort trifft der Weg auf den Pfälzer Jakobsweg Süd. Die Verbindungsroute ist mit weißer Muschel auf blauem Grund und dem Hinweis „Verbindungsroute“ gekennzeichnet.

Schloßböckelheim - Waldböckelheim - Burgsponheim - Sponheim - Braunweiler Jutta of Sponheim played an important role in Hildegard of Bingen’s life: she was a relative of Hildegard and Hildegard’s teacher and confidante from 1106 or at the latest from 1112 until her death.

Monzingen – Nussbaum – Bad Sobernheim – Staudernheim - Disibodenberg This section leads into the centre of the pilgrimage trail, the Disibodenberg monastery ruin.

Kirn – St. Johannisberg Collegiate Church / Skywalk – Brunkenstein reuins – Dhaun Caste - Simmertal – Weiler - Monzingen The traces of an eventful history spanning over a thousand years can still be found today in the preserved historical buildings of Kirn and the other trail stations.

On the hike along the Hildegard of Bingen Pilgrimage Trail, the universal scholar and probably most famous personality of the Middle Ages is commemorated. The trail leads for around 135 kilometres through the land of Hildegard.
