Pilgrim walks in Norway

The stretch is approx. 21.5 km and takes us along beautiful rivers, through forests, agricultural landscapes and small residential areas. Once we arrive at Munkeby hostel, we enjoy a good dinner, get some stories from the farm, and maybe the hosts serve up a locally brewed Munkeby beer?

Etter frokost vandrer vi i samlet flokk ned til båten som skal ta oss over fjorden til siste etappe og Trondheimsregionen. Nå blir vi «kystpilegrimer» en liten stund. Fra båten ser vi klosterruinene og landskapet rundt Trondheimsfjorden.

 Etter noen  lange dager med vandring så blir det denne dagen mulighet for litt mer valgmuligheter. For de som ønsker så tar vi sykler fra Valberg og sykler oss en morgentur etter frokost og besøker den historiske og vakre Logtun kirke og Tinghaugen ( ca. 5 km tur og retur). 

This trip is part of day 3, stage 2 which takes us from Levanger to Vei etern Arboreet.

From Sul, which lies east of Stiklestad, we walk 11 km with a stop for lunch along the old road between Norway and Sweden, Karl Johans vei, which is part of the St. Olavsleden. This section was completed in 1835 and was considered a great engineering feat at the time. It is per today restored and protected and runs through a beautiful and exciting landscape. Today's walk ends at the beautiful Kong Karls Kleiv with its characteristic stone walls, where we will be picked up by bus and taken to the Auskin Creative Center in Vuku where we will have a good dinner and spend the night. On the way, we may make a stop at Vuku church if we have time. NB: this is only a selected stretch of the entire St. Olavsleden.

This part takes us to Munkeby monastery.

Romboleden is not only Norway's oldest pilgrim path, it is also an important connection between two great Nordic saints: St. Olav and the Swedish Saint Birgitta.

Very nice hiking route, with many places to sleep in the wild. Did the route with my 7-year-old boy, who is a hiker, but he was able to do it. took us 4,5 days.
