Offroad routes in Komovi

This stage is among the prettiest rides we have on offer. The ascend to Lipovo is great, the high roads in Bjelasica even better. Along the stage plenty of opportunities to sample traditional Katun Life.

Dit is een pittige etappe, met name in d ehoogste delen zeer uitdagende wegen.

Een korte maar uitdagend een zeer panoramische 4x4 tocht. Ideaal te comineren met de beklimming van de piek Stitan aan het einde van de rit.

Vusanje - Andrijevica - Tresnjevik - Kolasin - Podgorica

Your trip starts in Podgorica through the "Moraca" canyon, passing by Kolasin to Gornje Lipovo. This part is all asphalt, mostly on the main road that connects Montenegro and Serbia. This road is cut through the Moraca River Canyon with high cliffs above and the river below where the sun barely penetrates. During the rainy season a lot of water breaks through the limestone rocks creating great temporary waterfalls.  After the Moraca Monastery the road goes out from the canyon and climbs towards the town of Kolasin. After Kolasin, the road follows the Tara River for couple of kilometers until you see the sign to turn to the left for Lipovo.

Deze fraaie rondrit voert je door de hoogste delen van Bjelasica nationaal park, langs authentieke katuns en prachtige vergezichten.

De route neemt de binnendoorweg vanuit het zuiden naar Pljevlja. Links van de weg, aan de westkant begrensd door de kloof van de rivier Tara, ligt een wild gebied gernaamd Stozer. Dit is ideaal off-road terrein.  De route gaat 2x van de weg af links het gebied in. Je kunt er ook voor kiezen om dat slechts 1x te doen om de route wat in te korten. Kies je daarvoor, sla dan het eerste stukje richting Sokolovica over en ga bij de tweede optie links omhoog (net voorbij Tomasevo). Deze tweede optie over de berg snijdt een heel stuk af in afstand en biedt ook de fraaiste panorama's. Op de eerste uitstap passeer je echter een leuke (doch kleine) waterval (Ljestanica). 

Deze fraaie tocht voert je door spectaculaire landschappen, deels door Albanië, en kan als je regelmatig stopt een dagvullende route vormen. Het laatste stukje voeren we je over de berg via wegen waar de 4x4 goed tot zijn recht zal komen. Mochten deze door sneeuw niet goed toegankelijk blijken kun je altijd terug keren naar Berane en alsnog de hoofdweg nemen.

Deel 2

Down via the "main" road back to the valley. Imagine this was the most important traffic connection in the 1970's, for inhabitants from Kosovo to go to the sea. Old zastava cars packed with the whole family and food for a week made their way over this pass to see, once a year, the Adriatic. You reach the bottom of the valley near Murino and then head further south. Optionally you can make your way up to katun Visitor before continuing your journay into Prokletije. From this wonderfull and authentic katun we have described a short hike to Visitor summit. Plav is the town to will up before making your way again into the highlands. The road up to the borderpoint woth Kosovo and Albania is very scenic. A hike to the summit that marks this border is among the options, as well as a dip into the volcanic Hridsko lake.
