Mountain huts in Neustadt an der Weinstrasse

The Totenkopfhütte (height 513 m) is a popular destination. It is easily accessible by car and has been certified barrier-free since 2017. There is a playground with a climbing wall for children.

At the Ludwigsbrunnen Waldschenke are you able to enjoy different palatinate specialities with. The Cabin has a large sun terrace and a beer garden in the middle of the forest. Parking lot for busses.

The Weinbiet cabin belongs to the Palatinate Forest Association and is to be found on the local mountain with the same name. Here you will be able to enjoy regional specialties and the good "Gimmeldinger Schoppen" (a pint of wine mixed with carbohydrated water) The Weinbiethaus seats 190 inside and in total 150 seats outside, where you can enjoy a wonderful view of the Rhine plain.

In the middle of the shady forest, conveniently located and easily accessible for hikers, cars, buses, (parking lot at the house) at the enterance to the Palatinate Forest Nature Park is the Heidenbrunnertal Cabin located. The Naturfreundehaus Neustadt offers also accommodation.

The cabin is run by members of the Palatinate Forest Association in Hambach and offers a magnificent view of the Southern Palatinate to the Black Forest and the mountainrange Odenwald. The cabin seats 250 persons inside and offers additional outdoor seating. There is also a large children's playground next to the cabin.

The cabin is located at the foot of the Kalmit in the middle of the Palatinate Forest. The restaurant is known for its tasty and typical palatinate dishes. If you wish to enjoy the beautiful surroundings for an extended period of time, why not decide to say a night or two in one of the six hotelrooms? Numerous hiking trails will take you throught the stunning surroudings to this charming cabin. It is he ideal starting point for cycling and mountain bike tours as well as of other leisure activities.
