Steep rock faces, rushing water and bizarre ice formations in winter make the Partnachklamm to an impressive natural spectacle.
The Partnachklamm is about 700 m long with walls rising up to 80 m. The gorge is accessible all year round thanks to paths and passages that have been blown up in the rock. In summer the gorge is a cool refreshment after a strenuous hike, in winter it offers the ideal opportunity to admire impressive ice formations. The gorge can be crossed on an iron bridge built in 1914 which is about 70 m above the river Partnach. Every year the Partnachklamm has more than 200,000 visitors.

From Munich, take the A95 towards Garmisch-Partenkirchen. The motorway ends shortly before Garmisch-Partenkirchen and turns into the B2 federal road.
