The tour from St. Bartholom via the Kärlinger Haus is a challenging but scenic ski tour above the Königssee with an overnight stay. The grandiose descent über the Ebenhorn with a fantastic view of the Königssee has to be honestly earned. If the Königssee is frozen over, which happens about once every five to ten years, you have to walk the first part of the demanding ski tour back across the frozen lake - instead of just comfortably on the wooden boat.

Another challenging ski tour is the Hundstod Reibn. First you go through the Wimbachgries, then üend via the Trischübel into the Steinerne Meer and über the Hundstodscharte. The ascent takes you around the Hundstod. The rapid descent is via the Loferer Seilergraben into the Wimbachgries. The difficult tour takes about 10 hours and covers a distance of 33 km with an ascent of 2000 m - so good fitness and planning are essential for this tour.
For pleasure ski tourers, the route via the Hochalm is a good choice - it is still quite demanding, but much shorter than the Hundstod Reibn. You don't actually reach a summit on this ski tour, but you do reach the imposing rock walls of the Blaueisspitze. Here you will find plenty and usually good powder snow, which is why you can look forward to a splendid descent.
Berchtesgaden landmark: ski tours around the Watzmann mountain
With its 2,713 metres, the mighty Watzmann towers over Berchtesgaden. The mountaineering magazine even once crowned it the most beautiful mountain in the world – a great compliment! No wonder, then, that the mountain massif is a dream destination for outdoor enthusiasts from all over the world, both in summer and in winter.
For ski tourers, the Watzmann is additionally interesting because the ski season lasts a little longer than in most other German ski resorts. In the Watzmannkar there is usually snow until well into spring. So you can even cycle to the start of the tour and then strap on your skis - and of course enjoy the spring panorama from above. Some tours are also possible with a mountain guide.
In the depths of winter, the Watzmann offers fantastic powder snow and you can look forward to exciting ascents and long descents!
