Cross-country skiing trails in Schönau and at Königsee
Around the idyllic little town of Schönau on the Königsee there is an extensive network of cross-country ski trails, which scores with easy and medium-difficulty routes. The 20 kilometres of cross-country ski trails, which run through the beautiful high plateau of Oberschönau and along a short stretch of the Königsee, are mostly between 1 and 10 km long and are prepared in parallel for skiers in both classic and skating styles. The medium-difficulty Watzmann trail, for example, runs 2.1 km through the wonderfully snow-covered winter landscape with a view of the majestic Watzmann mountain. Two easy circuits are the Hochkalter trail with 2.5 km and the Jenner trail with 1.3 km. The starting point in each case is the Bodnerlehen car park in Oberschönau.
The cross-country ski trail of the same name is located at Königsee. The medium-difficulty, 11 km long loop starts at the Königsee car park and is prepared for both classic skiers and skaters. In the area of the Königsee, the trail is snow-covered and equipped with floodlights, so that nothing stands in the way of evening fun.
