R. Taglinger - Bergführer - Bergschule VIPS
Climbing the east face of the Watzmann is a great dream for many mountaineers. However, the tour should not be underestimated! For the ascent, it is essential to be in very good shape.
Two days must be planned for the tour. The first day is used to arrive at the east face camp in St. Barthalom. On the second day we start early and climb the east face to the summit in about 6 - 8 hours. Then we return via the Wimbachgriesh and the Wimbach valley of the same name. In total, the tour takes about 10 hours.
