The so-called “Waldhusche“ in Saxon Switzerland is a large area where children and adults can learn about the history of forest management and the natural processes occuring in the forest. The trail is made up of four interconnected themed routes, featuring more than 40 learning stations.

Bus number 241 from Pirna, Königstein, Bad-Schandau up to Hinterhermsdorf, Erbgericht

Bus number 268 from Sebnitz up to Hinterhermsdorf, Erbgericht

Directions

From Pirna on the B172 via Königstein to Bad Schandau. Cross the Elbe river in Bad Schandau and approximately 500 metres after the bridge take a left towards Sebnitz. Please drive via Sebnitz since the route through the “Kirnitzschtal“ valley leads straight through the national park. From Bad Schandau, continue via Altendorf, Mittelndorf and Lichtenhain to Sebnitz. Carry on via Saupsdorf to Hinterhermsdorf. Once there, follow the signs "Obere Schleuse".
