Located about 40 minutes by boat from Nouméa, Amédée Island is more commonly called Phare Amédée (Amédée Lighthouse) by New Caledonians.
The lighthouse is the enduring symbol of this place, and many special events are held here. The site is incredible and climbing the lighthouse is highly recommended! When you finally reach the top of the 247 cast iron steps, the panorama is simply breathtaking. You’ll have a magical view of the turquoise waters of the lagoon, the great reef and the mountainous landscape of Grande Terre. A must!
