Hike to the viewpont on the Csere-hegy
It s nice afternoon hike for families, who are interested in the great view of the lake Balaton, with a little historical spice.

Distance 5 km
From the Csere-hegy you can see lake as you never seen from the beach. From the Viewpoint you can see the whole east part of the lake.
Your starting and ending point is the old pub of the village where you can get a refreshment. You will see on the way an old stone mine. From Alsóörs they used to export red sandstone in the old times. Going trough this track you will find maybe the youngest Amphitheater and the Red Rock Natural trail.
The Viewpoint itself is a historical sight, built in 1935 at the former borders of Zala and Veszprém county. First named from Miklós Horthy, the former govenor of Hungary. You will find the Horthy family's banner above the entrance.

Author’s recommendation
At the end of the tour take time to rest at the pub and get a drink, and you will get the ultimate feeling of the village. This was the center of the old village before its expanded in to the direction of the lake.

The pub of Alsóörs
Turn-by-turn directions
From the pub you take the blue line and you fllow the Endrődi Sándor street, where you find yourself between the Somlyó hegy and the Alsó hegy. You will pass the Amphitheater, on the way. After the Amphitheater the blue line will turn to the right and you will follow the sign up until the viewpoint. From the viewpoint we take the yellow line sign for a while. The blue line and the yellow cross would bring us to a different direction. At the point where the yellow line would like to take us to the left, we go straight ahead, until the route turns to the right and brings us to the Feketerigó street. This street will turn into the Szépkilátó köz, what will guide us first to the left then to the right and again to the left. Then it will join to the Római street, what was the first road in this area, made by Romans. You follow this street westward, until you arrive to the pub where you started.
