The Pays de la Loire region is located in the heart of the Loire Valley and is home to many famous castles, each with its own particularity: Fontevraud Abbey, one of the greatest monastic cities of the Middle Ages, Brézé Castle with an underground fortress, Serrant Castle with its numerous books, Montsoreau Castle with its collection of contemporary art, Brissac Castle, the highest castle with a small Belle Epoque theater, the castle of Angers with its famous tapestry "Tenture de l'Apocalypse", the castle of the Dukes of Brittany, an architectural jewel of the Renaissance and former residence of Anne de Bretagne, or the castle of Saumur, which is characterized by a modern 16th-century Century built by an Italian engineer.

In Anjou-Saumur, there are no more than 19 recognized protected designations of origin (AOC - Appellation d'origine contrôlée) and 1 protected geographical indication (IGP - Indication géographique protégée). In the wine region of Nantes you can discover 7 AOC and 1 IGP. In the Loir Valley, in the Sarthe region, you will be surprised by the 2 AOC Jasnières and Coteaux du Loir. In the Vendée, the AOC Fiefs Vendéens with 18 wineries spread over 412 hectares.
