This trail allows you to discover two communes located on the banks of the Mayenne and in the heart of the Basses Vallées angevines.

Distance 17.5 km
Montreuil-Juigné, whose particularity is to have 2 locks, and Cantenay-Epinard, in the confluence of the Sarthe and Mayenne rivers, have a rich cultural heritage and a new bicycle touristic route “La Vélo Francette” since 2015 to link Normandy to the Atlantic coast.

April 2024 - Due to flooding, some of the paths and roads along the route may be partially under water, so please remain vigilant.

Touristic places :
- The towpath of Mayenne permits going along the river between those two towns.
- The Montreuil-Belfroy lock, 34m long, was used to transport raw materials to supply the flourmill.
- The “Vieux Cantenay” hamlet, located along the river of Sarthe, has beautiful abodes, like the château de Grand Vaux and La Hautvraie.
Equipment at your disposal :
- Toilets and picnic tables along the river of Mayenne in Cantenay-Epinard
- Toilets (during the opening of the campsite) and picnic tables near the campsite of Montreuil-Juigné
- Picnic tables near Montreuil-Belfroy lock
