Prater
The Vienna Prater extends over an area of around 6 square kilometres and consists largely of original meadows and the famous amusement park, the Wurstelprater.
The Wurstelprater, often simply referred to as the Prater, is located at the north-western tip of the entire area. This amusement park has a history of around 250 years, making it the second oldest amusement park in the world.
An absolute highlight of the Wurstelprater is the famous Ferris wheel, whose impressive iron construction weighs in at 430 tonnes. At a height of 65 metres, the Ferris wheel offers a breathtaking view of the Austrian metropolis and is one of the park's most famous attractions. Another spectacular ride in the Prater is the Prater Tower, a chain carousel that was built in 2010 and is the highest of its kind in Austria at 117 metres. For those looking for an adrenaline rush, the Prater Tower promises a thrilling experience.
However, the Wurstelprater not only offers modern rides, but also retains the charm of times gone by. A spectacular ghost train invites visitors on a spooky ride and adds a touch of excitement to the park's nostalgic flair. The Vienna Prater is therefore not only a place of modern entertainment, but also a living piece of history that attracts visitors from all over the world.
