The Peninsula All Suite Hotel will host its popular monthly Wine and Dine evening on January 28, with Blaauklippen Wine Estate as the featured vineyard.
The much-anticipated gastronomic event will see the Sunset restaurant’s executive chef, Hajierah Hamit, use her culinary prowess to curate a gourmet menu, to be paired with the exceptional wines.
The menu – with inspired elements of Cape cuisine – will start with Panko Prawn Fritters with Green Goddess Dressing and Spicy Rustic Gazpacho while Crispy Duck Salad with Wilted Spinach and Spicy Litchi Chutney will be served as the intermediate dish.
A Tequila Sunrise sorbet will cleanse the palate before the stellar main course, a Hot Rooibos Smoked Norwegian Salmon with Crab Coriander Croquets and a Wild Sugar Pancetta Salad, while a Berry Bliss dessert will round out the evening’s culinary adventure.
“Blaauklippen wines are renowned for their complex, tonal flavors and have been my inspiration in both creating dishes that best complement them and the occasion,” says Hajierah Hamit.
Nestled along picturesque slopes in Stellenbosch, Blaauklippen Wine Estate is one of the oldest vineyards in South Africa and practises a minimal intervention process of winemaking, successfully creating exquisite, award-winning wines.
Blaauklippen wines will be the perfect accompaniment to the relaxed, poolside affair at The Peninsula. At R225 a head, guests can contact the hotel directly on 021 430 777 or email firstname.lastname@example.org to make a booking.
