If you were to decide the criteria for what makes a city perfect, what would they be? Would scenic beauty be on that list? Would variety of restaurants be on that list? And what about climate? Are leisure activities important to you? Do you enjoy water activities? Do you like to play some sport and know that the city offers a variety of sporting activities?
Do you like to live in an urban environment, but knowing that all of nature lies just a short drive away? Would you like to have a selection of jobs available, knowing that you can change your job at any time?
If your answer to more than one of these questions is yes, then Cape Town is the city that provides an affirmative answer to all these questions.
Yes, Cape Town is a city of singular beauty. In the words of Mr. Nelson Mandela, a person who needs no introduction, “During the many years of incarceration on Robben Island, we often looked across Table Mountain at its magnificent silhouette … To us on Robben Island, Table Mountain was a beacon of hope. It represented the mainland to which we knew we would one day return.”
For people who are connoisseurs of good food:
Cape Town is a gourmet’s paradise. Whether it’s South African food that you are looking for or Greek food that catches your fancy, Cape Town will oblige. World cuisines, such as Japanese, Mediterranean, Italian, Indian and Chinese all feature on the menus in the restaurants of Cape Town. There are also restaurants that cater to seafood aficionados and fast food restaurants for people in a hurry. Cape Town has some excellent night life that helps people relax in the evenings. Do you think the variety of restaurants available in Cape Town enough to give it the tag for the number one in restaurants? I am inclined to think so.
Leisure Activities in Cape Town:
“All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy!” We’ve heard this often enough. Of course, it applies to all the Jills out there as well. But in Cape Town, it does not have to be like that. Cape Town has many leisure activities for people who want to unwind after a hard day or week at work. There are clubs that you can frequent to play golf. If sailing is your cup of tea, then there are clubs for that too. Over the years, more and more people have taken to mountain hiking and treks in the wilderness that South Africa is famous for. It all sounds very exciting but my idea of leisure time is to sit in my garden sipping my favorite drink and reading the latest bestseller!
